Ethnography

The natural and cultural resources of a park can be associated with cultural traditions, practices, and beliefs of tribes. Some of these resources, or ethnographic resources, are significant to how a group of people identifies itself. They include plants and animals, natural features, archaeological sites, and objects associated with a group’s distinctive history. Natural features in the region have significant symbolic meanings that provide a sense of identity and place. The parks of the Learning Center of the American Southwest are significant to multiple cultures that have historical and cultural associations with the land and its resources.
